EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SWIM LESSONS – 2024

OVERVIEW


The Moraga Ranch coaching staff offers private swim lessons to Ranch swimmers both in the Spring and Summer seasons. 

  • Spring – Learn-to-Swim lessons (1 Saturday and 3 Sundays – starting on March 30th with Coach Andie)
  • Summer: June 3rd – July 26th (with Coaches Marc, John, and Andie)

Below you will find detailed information on Spring Lessons, Summer Lessons, and the Cancellation Policy. Please review all the requirements before signing up for a lesson. 

2024 SPRING SWIM LESSONS 

Coach Andie will be offering 20-minute, private, one-on-one lessons on weekends (3/30, 4/14, 4/28, and 5/12 from 11AM-2PM).

Spring lessons are for prospective Mini Piranhas and 6 and unders, or any swimmers who are new to swim team and need additional preparation to be ready for the season. 

Requirements: Must meet the Minis or 6 & Under requirements (see here)

Days/Times:  3/30, 4/14, 4/28, and 5/12 from 11AM-2PM

Registration: Lessons will be open for registration the Thursday before the lesson. (For example, if lessons were on March 30th, the lesson sign-ups would be live on March 28th).

  • Lesson slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Please only sign up for one lesson per swimmer unless otherwise directed by John or Andie. 
  • Each swimmer is allowed a maximum of one lesson per week during the Spring. 
  • If there are any available lesson slots on Tuesday after 7PM, Minis, 6&U, and learn-to-swim children can sign up for a second lesson.

Pricing:  $40/lesson. Payment is required at the time of sign-up to hold your slot.  

 2024 SUMMER SWIM LESSONS

Summer Swim Lessons go live at 8PM on Thursdays. From Thursday through Saturday at 8PM, each swimmer is only permitted to sign up for 1 lesson. After Saturday at 8PM, a swimmer may sign up for additional lesson slots if they are available. 

Coaches Marc, John, and Andie will be offering 20-minute, private one-on-one lessons throughout the week based on their availability, but typically on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  

  • Coach Marc - lessons for swim team members only
  • Coach John & Coach Andie - lessons for swim team members and Mini Piranhas; learn-to-swim lessons with approval

Coach Pricing: $40/lesson.  Payment is required at the time of sign-up to hold your slot.

A few Junior Coaches will also be available for 20-minute, private one-on-one lessons throughout the week. The Junior Coaches are allowed to have swimmers that are Mini's or Learn-to-Swim kids ONLY.

Junior Coach Pricing: $20/lesson.  Payment is required at the time of sign-up to hold your slot.

Please note: you may not hire your own "outside coach" to give your child lessons at Moraga Ranch.

OMPA WEEK

During OMPA week we will not have lessons available unless you “win” a lesson with one of the coaches at the Auction which takes place in June.   

CANCELLATION POLICY

Ranch coaches are focused on providing the best swim lesson experience possible. All lessons are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, one week in advance. When you sign up your child for a lesson, the lesson time is held for you. You are paying for the lesson slot, not their attendance. Due to the limited number of lessons available, we are unable to accept cancellations. 

We recognize that conflicts do arise and recommend that you swap your lesson time with another family or post on the Moraga Ranch Piranhas Facebook page for another family to purchase your lesson spot directly from you. If your lesson will be attended by another swimmer, please update the lessons coordinator ([email protected]).

We understand there may be special situations that need extra consideration, and we will attempt to accommodate everyone fairly and evaluate these situations on a case-by-case basis. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the lessons coordinator ([email protected]).

If a lesson is canceled by a Ranch coach for circumstances beyond our control, we will schedule a make-up lesson directly with the swimmer’s family to ensure all lessons promised have been offered.
