We are also the hosts of the best summer invitational meet around -- OPP Relays! This fast-paced, all-relay meet is in its 62nd year.   For more information go to OPPRELAYS.ORG.

Sportsmanship

We are proud of our long history of exemplary sportsmanship at PARK - winning the Heidary cup many times at the OMPA .  Our swimmers have a reputation for respect -- remaining in the water to shake hands with both their lane neighbors, congratulating their competitors, and pulling together, even after a tough relay decision, to fully support the team.

We expect our swimmers to honor and celebrate their teammates' achievements and to value teamwork above all, even as they pursue their individual goals in the sport.  We also expect our swimmers to show respect for our competitors, coaches and teammates -- both in the water and out, at practice or at meets, whether we are a host or guest at another pool.   As swim team parents we work to exemplify these values for our swimmers -- actively contributing to the team through our scheduled job obligations and displaying a general willingness to help colored by the understanding that the success of our summer is a collective responsibility.   We are all responsible for teaching our swimmers to win and lose gracefully and remembering this ourselves.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for non-sportsman-like conduct.  If a swimmer is found to have violated this the situation will be assessed and a warning may be given.  Further violations may result in suspension from a meet and/or practice and ultimately may result in removal from the team.  This policy will be implemented in an age-appropriate manner by your swimmer's Senior Coach in conjunction with the Head Staff.

In addition to our swimmers, our OPP coaches are also governed by the OMPA rules and guidelines. For more information, please visit http://www.ompaswim.com.

If a parent or swimmer believes he/she has been treated unfairly or inappropriately by any member of our coaching staff, please contact our Director of Personnel. The contact information may be found under "contacts" on our home page.

So, let's carry on our strong tradition of sportsmanship and respect in 2024. Set a positive example for the young swimmers on our team and all the swimmers (and parents) in our league!
