Aquatic Complex

The UMBC Aquatic Complex is one of the premier swimming facilities in the state of Maryland and includes both indoor and outdoor pool complexes. The indoor complex features an eight-lane, 25-yard pool and a separate 13-foot diving well with 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. A balcony area overlooks the indoor pool, with the capacity to seat 500 spectators and the complex also includes a state-of-the-art soundsystem and automatic timing system and scoreboard display.

In addition, the women's swimming and diving team locker room was completed in the spring 2005. Brand new lockers, flooring, and a suit dryer were installed and the existing locker room was expanded to almost twice its original size.

The outdoor pool complex consists of a heated, Olympic size, eight-lane, 50-meter pool, which can be converted to 20 lanes, 12 of which measure 25-yards and and additional eight 25-meter lanes. The outdoor pool is also fitted with an automatic timing system and scoreboard display and is available for use from April through October with deck furniture also provided and can provide seating for over 2000 spectators if necessary. The facility has hosted numerous local and regional competitions, including the 1999 Eastern Zone Championships and the 2003 Speedo Champions Series.

The UMBC Aquatic Complex is part of the Retriever Activities Center and can be reached from the track level of the building.
